YOGA FOR ATHLETES
Charles MacInerney
has considerable experience in teaching yoga classes and workshops
for amatuer, student and professional athletes. In addition, he
has introduced the practices of Raja Yoga (mental control) in
the form of stress management, balance, visualization, concentration,
goal setting and peak performance, to athletes from track, swimming,
golf, tennis, ice skating, cycling and even a Nationally ranked
Highland Games competitor.
Charles
has a strong relationship with the University of Texas' Womens
Athletic Program and has been hired to teach Hatha Yoga, concentration
and breath control to the women's volleyball team which went on
to a National Championship, as well as teaching yoga to the Women's
Track Team, and Hatha Yoga, stress management and relaxation to
the Women's Golf Team.
Through
his own experiences in high school and college sports, Charles
realized from an early age that yoga was a wonderful training
program for athletes, improving breath control, balance, flexibility,
concentration and so much more.
Charles continues
to work privately with athletes, both amateur and professional,
and occassionally accepts work with college athletic programs.
