Hanging Out at the Center
One
of the favorite uses of free time is just to Hang out
at the Center.
Participants are often found reading a
book, napping in a hammock, getting a massage, or just
relaxing in the grass.
There is also the private waterfall and
pool, high above the center upon which you can float on
a raft in absolute seclusion.

Exploring
the Village
For
those wanting to get out and about there is plenty to
see and do in the Village of Yelapa, about a 10 minute
walk.
It is fun to explore the
various paths that wind through the village, and discover
the church, post office, restaurants and artists communities.
There are plenty of opportunities to purchase
authentic Wiechel Indian art, locally made rosewood bowls
and more. For more pictures and information click
here.

Relaxing
at the Beach
From
Los Naranjos Retreat Center the main beach is only a 5
minute walk. Here participants relax on the sand and can
get drinks or food from one of the many restaurants along
the beach.
In the evenings there is often live music
from visiting professional musicians.
For the more adventurous there is also
para-gliding, para-sailing, and kayaks available.

Refreshing
Waterfalls
There
are three waterfalls in Yelapa that are easy get
to. One of them is on the Los Naranjos Retreat Center
property two hundred feet from the patio where we
practice Yoga and Meditation.
A second waterfall is on the opposite
side of the village, about a 20 minute walk, but
well worth the visit. It is best viewed from Casa
Isabell where you can also see the best collection
of Wiechel Indian art in Yelapa.
The best known and most spectacular
waterfall is just upstream from the village, about
a 15 minute walk from Los Naranjos Retreat Center.
The picture at left shows Roni and Michelle relaxing
with a drink at the restaurant that overlooks the
waterfall and swimming pool.

Making
New Friends
Free
time provides wonderful opportunities to make new friends.
Small groups set out together to explore and return later
that day as close friends.
Pictured at right is a small group from
the February 2000 retreat who decided to stay on a few
extra days in Yelapa after the retreat ended.
