SETTING
- Puerto Vallarta - Nightlife
The
board walk comes alive at night, especially
on weekends. Although there are a lot of older
people walking about, it is mainly a younger
crowd that you see. About half are local kids,
and the other half are from Canada, America,
Europe, and South America.
Pictured at right
is a jam session on the beach. Within an hour
there were over a hundred people drumming and
dancing and singing. Close by an airbrush artist
held a crowd of 30 spectators watching her create
yet another wonderful surreal landscape. Further
down the beach, a series of stone arches form
the back drop for a large stage facing an amphitheater.
Children play here during the day, and at night
it hosts bands, dances, magicians, jugglers,
and much much more.
Pictured
at left is Karen relaxing on one of the many
unusual benches to be found along the boardwalk.
Below right, Tierno
sits comfortably in the lap of a Cyclops, while
a group of musicians begin warming up behind
him. Below left is yet another sculpture, one
of the few that you cannot sit on.
Across from the
board walk is a string of art galleries, glass
shops, leather shops, restaurants, and night
clubs. This scene does not lack for energy in
the evenings.
